e. Rio Manso fences and gates

If you come to a gate like the one on the left chances are you've gone the wrong way, backtrack and try going straight on up the hill instead of left towards the river. If you do decide to open one of these ( which you shouldn't need to ), make sure you know how to put it back together again first!

Most of the fences in the area, on both sides of the border, are built from tree trunks. When clearing the land for cattle the felled trees have been put to use. In some places there are also wire fences but the majority are built the traditional way. Disused fences of this construction can be seen slowly rotting and falling away along the route now that their owners have left the land. All the gates you should need to pass through pose no problem and just push open, others are a series of logs to slide sideways and replace. If it's closed when you get to it, close it behind you.
