Subject notes: Hang-ten refers to a surfing maneuver where the surfer dangles all ten toes over the end of the surf board while riding a wave. I like the play on words as hang gliding has often been called "sky surfing." The child whose toes are in the photograph was sitting on the lookout wall gaping excitedly upward and had no idea I was sitting in the shade below.
